Festival Terminalia – prima edizione biscegliese

I Terminalia erano un’antica festività della religione romana dedicata al dio Termine (in latino Jupiter Terminus), che proteggeva i confini e si svolgeva ogni 23 febbraio in coincidenza del termine dell’anno solare dell’epoca.

Proprio giovedì 23 febbraio, con appuntamento alle ore 11.00 sul Torrione Sant’Angelo, prende avvio il Festival con ‘Walking around the wall’, performance di avvistamento dei luoghi con la partecipazione dei ragazzi della II A della scuola media Cesare Battisti.

Il tema trattato per questa prima edizione biscegliese è ‘Mura e muri d’Europa’. “Nella Roma antica – spiega Bernardo Bruno di Archietica – il rispetto dei confini era talmente sacro da onorarlo con i Terminalia. I Romani avevano compreso che la stabilità dei limiti terrieri era l’unico modo per mantenere la pace tra i proprietari e nell’intera città.”

Al centro del Festival, sabato 25 febbraio alle 18.30 nella chiesa di Santa Margherita, la tavola rotonda “Corpi, Confini, Architettura, Potere” con gli interventi di Bernardo Bruno (Archietica), Giacinto Cerviere (Vortex -A), Matteo Losapio (Associazione 21), Daniela Salerno (Archimisti), Gianfranco Todisco (Centro Studi Biscegliese). A conclusione dei Terminalia, domenica 26 febbraio con partenza alle 10.30 dalla chiesa di Santa Margherita una passeggiata sulle mura della città, per conoscere la nostra storia e la nostra Bisceglie.

L’evento, organizzato da Associazione 21 e Archietica, è gratuito.
