Sabato 17 gennaio 2026, in occasione della Giornata Nazionale del Dialetto e delle Lingue Locali, a Bisceglie (BT) si è tenuto uno spettacolo culturale al Teatro Garibaldi dedicato alla valorizzazione della parlata locale e delle tradizioni linguistiche della comunità. La serata è stata promossa dal Comune di Bisceglie insieme all’Associazione La Canigghie de Vescègghie, alla Pro Loco UNPLI di Bisceglie, con la collaborazione di realtà locali come il Circolo Unione e la Società Operaia di Mutuo Soccorso “Roma Intangibile”
L’evento è stato parte delle celebrazioni della Giornata Nazionale del Dialetto, una ricorrenza promossa dall’UNPLI – Unione Nazionale Pro Loco d’Italia per sensibilizzare sull’importanza delle lingue e dei dialetti locali come patrimonio culturale immateriale.
La serata ha proposto un programma vario e coinvolgente, curato dal poeta Demetrio Rigante con contributi artistici e riflessivi che hanno unito memoria, teatro, poesia e musica:
- Performance teatrali in dialetto a cura della Compagnia Dialettale Biscegliese, con attori come Uccio Carelli, Franco Di Bitetto, Vincenzo Lopopolo, Francesco Mastrodonato e Pino Tatoli.
- Video-poesie e letture poetiche, tra cui un omaggio con “Làgreme assutte”, che abbracciano linguaggi espressivi tradizionali e contemporanei.
- Interventi istituzionali e culturali, con contributi di studiosi, come il prof. Nicola Gallo, curatore del “Calannèire 2026”, che ha raccontato il ruolo identitario del dialetto nella comunità.
- Un momento di ricordo dedicato a figure significative della storia culturale locale, tra cui il prof. Eugenio Monopoli.
- Partecipazioni musicali e letture di giovani e voci della tradizione, che hanno attraversato temi di memoria collettiva e radici linguistiche.
L’evento è stato pensato non solo come spettacolo, ma come rito collettivo di riconoscimento dell’identità linguistica: un modo per riflettere su come il dialetto custodisca storia, emozioni e sapienza popolare, contribuendo a mantenere viva la memoria culturale di Bisceglie e del territorio.
