Durante la Settimana Santa, ed in particolare il Venerdì Santo, ogni regione celebra, secondo le proprie usanze, il ciclo e la rievocazione della Passione e della Morte di Cristo.
Come visto nell’articolo precedente [LINK], nei giorni che precedono la Pasqua era fondamentale seguire delle regole, tra cui il digiuno, che in particolar modo doveva essere rispettato il Venerdì Santo, in quanto avviene la morte di Cristo ed è quindi considerato un giorno sacro.
Oltre al digiuno, però, in passato dovevano essere rispettati altri divieti, a volte anche legati a leggende.
Secondo una credenza popolare, infatti, in questo giorno era assolutamente vietato pettinarsi i capelli, mentre era di buon augurio impastare il pane o i dolci.
Alcune anziane, che conservano abitudini apprese nell’infanzia, raccontano che quando Gesù fu preso per patire il martirio, sua madre lo cercava dappertutto angosciosamente, bussando ad ogni uscio di casa.
Stanca ed assetata, la Vergine si fermò presso una casa dove abitava una donna che in quel momento si stava pettinando i capelli. La donna, però, poiché era stata disturbata, rifiutò di darle informazioni e di dissetarla. La Madonna, allora, andò via e si fermò più avanti, dove la accolse una donna che stava facendo il pane. La Vergine, quindi, maledisse la prima, scorbutica e vanitosa, e benedì la donna buona e laboriosa1.
Per rispetto di questa usanza il Venerdì Santo veniva impastato il “pane di Pasqua“, che a differenza degli altri giorni veniva impastato con una maggior quantità di farina bianca e poca farina di granturco.
