Settimana Santa: bisceglie tra riti e devozione popolare

Ci stiamo avvicinando a celebrare la Santa Pasqua e mai come quest’anno non vediamo l’ora di rivivere le stesse emozioni degli anni precedenti la pandemia la quale ci ha visti costretti a rivivere i culti della settimana santa a Bisceglie attraverso il piccolo schermo pur di tener fede alle tradizioni che da anni caratterizzano il nostro territorio.

Questo, dunque, non sarà solo un anno di rinascita dal punto di vista sociale, ma anche dal punto di vista culturale. Non dobbiamo mai dimenticare infatti che è attraverso le tradizioni che la nostra storia viene tramandata nel tempo.

Nella settimana che andrà dall’11 al 17 Aprile vivremo i riti della settimana santa che troveranno il loro apice il venerdì Santo, giorno che da anni rappresenta un appuntamento fisso per tutti i fedeli, i quali numerosi accorrono per rivivere una delle tappe della via crucis. “Protagonista” è la Madonna che incontra il Figlio Gesù che porta la croce sul quale verrà crocifisso sul monte Golgota. “L’Incontro” avviene nel momento in cui i due simulacri vengono avvicinati l’uno all’altro. E’ un momento in cui tutto il popolo riunito resta in silenzio, prega e sembra quasi immedesimarsi nel dolore provato dalla Madre e dal Figlio.

“La Pietà“

La sera del Venerdì, invece, sarà effettuata la processione in cui nove statue, che di solito sono collocate nelle chiese della Città, rappresentanti il Cristo durante le stazioni della sua Passione, percorrono il perimetro delle due piazze collocate nel centro cittadino (ll “Palazzuolo” e Piazza Vittorio Emanuele ) e sono portati a spalla da coloro che fanno parte delle Confraternite nel seguente ordine: Gesù nel Getsemani, San Pietro, Gesù nel momento in cui viene frustato (Gesù alla Colonna) , Ecce Homo, la Veronica, la Desolata, il complesso statuario del Calvario, la Pietà, e Cristo morto nella culla, che in dialetto viene denominato come “Crist n da la catène”. Tale processione viene volgarmente chiamata dai cittadini locali come la processione dei “Misteri”, termine che fa riferimento al Mistero del cristianesimo riguardante la morte, risurrezione e ascensione di Gesù. Il culto inoltre prevede che queste statue durante la processione sostino dinanzi al “Calvario” per la lettura della Via Crucis.

“Il Calvario“

Anticamente l’immagine di Gesù nella culla, veniva portata in processione da sola durante la sera del Giovedì santo, successivamente questa si è unita a tutti i simulacri portati in processione il venerdì santo. Ad oggi, il Giovedì Santo, usanza vuole che i fedeli si rechino nelle diverse chiese per pregare dinanzi agli altari della reposizione. I Biscegliesi utilizzano la dicitura di “andare a fare i sepolcri” e secondo la tradizione ci si deve recare in diverse chiese purché il numero di chiese visitate sia dispari. Il “numero dispari” ha una valenza simbolica, perchè, prendendo in riferimento la Bibbia, numeri come tre, cinque, sette, ricordano rispettivamente la trinità, le piaghe del Cristo e i dolori di Maria.

Il sabato Santo, come si evince dalle Sacre Scritture, essendo morto Gesù, è giorno di lutto e quindi il popolo resta in silenzio. Anticamente si usava anche non accendere nessuna fonte di distrazione quali radio, televisione, per meditare sul Mistero della Morte e Risurrezione di Gesù.

La Domenica, giorno di Risurrezione, i fedeli si recano a messa per celebrare la Santa Pasqua.
